Latest fix of the Yalu iOS 10 jailbreak exploit brings support for more iOS 10 running devices. According to iOS security researcher and jailbreak developer Luca Todesco the Yalu iOS 10 jailbreak can now be used on TSMC running iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and iPhone SE.
Yalu iOS 10 jailbreak was released just before the Christmas, but since then has been blocked as Apple quickly responded with ending the official support for the iOS 10 and iOS 10.1.1 versions on which the new jailbreak was working. But another iOS developer has entered the iOS 10 jailbreak scene with a iOS 10 Yalu jailbreak fix bringing additional iOS devices such as iPhone 6s, 6s Plus, and SE into the fold of iOS 10 jailbreak. This Yalu jailbreak fix is being endorsed and recommended by the godfather of iOS jailbreak Luca Todesco himself.
Luca Todesco announced this development via his social media account, “Since people seem to not know yet: a fix for TSMC has been posted for both SE and 6s. So support should now be complete for those devices.” Adding further, “I suggest using @sticktron’s 6s TSMC fix, no one else’s.”
This news comes as a welcoming surprise for those who have been using TSMC iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus or iPhone SE and waiting for the jailbreak support to arrive on their devices. Well, it seems their wish has been granted. But let’s me clear one thing that this Yalu Jailbreak for iOS 10 / iOS 10.1.1 is mostly in its half-baked beta phase, which is directed primarily at developers, non-developers of iOS jailbreak are recommended to stay away from Yalu jailbreak for now until its gets its stable enough for public use.
Moreover, Luca Todesco has informed the jailbreak community that “there is a pretty serious bug in all Yalu betas”, adding further that he needs some more time to weed out remaining bugs in Yalu jailbreak for iOS 10 / 10.1.1 before he can add support for iPhone 6 and iPhone 5. He stopped short of confirming any news about iOS 10.2 out of caution that any confirmation could result in ending of the official support for iOS 10.2 making it tougher for users to download and install the jailbreak exploit for that version.
In addition, Luca also made it explicitly clear that the users of Yalu iOS 10 jailbreak should refrain from using third-party packages, other than @sticktron’s Yalu iOS 10 jailbreak packages. The reason behind warning against using dubious third-part packages is they enable iOS features that come disabled on the jailbreak tool for a reason. Furthermore, he also warned against using Yucca Utilities by adding “current Substrate enablers do it wrong. And there is no real way to do it right unless the bug I was tweeting about gets fixed.”
iOS jailbreak is a tricky business that comes with its fair share of twists and turns like an Hollywood thriller, but in the end its all worth the effort.
