The Pixel and Pixel XL are Google’s latest smartphone devices. For customizing your Google Pixel or Pixel XL, you’ll need to enable recovery mode on Pixel and Pixel XL phone. Without entering into the recovery/bootloader on Pixel & Pixel XL, installing mods, kernels, custom ROMs, recoveries and rooting the device is not possible. Entering Google Pixel and Pixel XL recovery mode takes hardly a steps to get activated. In this guide, you’ll see three ways of entering into the recovery mode on Google Pixel and Pixel XL devices. How To Enter Google Pixel & Pixel XL Recovery Mode:

First method is quite simple and all it requires for you to have your device on you in order to enter it into the recovery mode.

1 – Power OFF your Pixel or Pixel XL device.

2 – Press and hold Volume Down + Power keys simultaneously until your see an Android logo on the screen.

3 – Let go of the Volume Down key but keep holding down the Power key and now press the Volume UP key and then release the Power key.

4 – That’s all. Your device is now in the Recovery Mode. When inside the recovery mode, use volume keys to navigate and power key to make a selection as the touchscreen display doesn’t work.

Enter Google Pixel / Pixel XL Recovery More Using ADB Tool On Windows:

This seconds method of entering Recovery Mode of Google Pixel requires you to have access to a PC with ADB tool installed on it.

1 – Connect your device to PC via USB cable.

2 – Install ADB / USB drivers for Google Pixel on PC.

3 – Head over to the ADB & Fastboot folder directory on Windows PC (mostly its android-sdk-windows\platform-tools) and open the command prompt (Shift + Right-click on mouse > Open Command Prompt).

4 – In the command prompt, type the following command and hit enter.

adb reboot recovery

5 – Your Pixel device will reboot into the recovery mode.

Enter Recovery Mode Of Pixel / Pixel XL On MAC:

Make sure your MAC has Android USB drivers for Pixel and ADB & Fastboot drivers installed on it.

1 – Connect your device to MAC using a USB cable.

2 – Open MAC Terminal and type the following command. Replace <Directory> in the command below with the location of Android SDK folder path on your MAC.

/<Directory>/android-sdk-macosx/platform-tools/adb reboot recovery

3 – Hit enter after typing the command above, which will reboot your Pixel into the recovery mode.

That’s all. You learnt three three ways of rebooting Pixel or Pixel XL into the recovery mode. To return the device back to the normal mode, simply select the Reboot option in the main recovery menu.
