The Nokia P1 Not The Nokia 8 To Feature Snapdragon 835, 5.3-inch Display, Android Nougat, And 22 MP Camera Lens, Claims Leaked Report

nokia p1 rumors and news

As opposed to what previous leaked rumors related the upcoming Nokia flagship device claimed, latest leak alleges that it’s the Nokia P1, and not the Nokia 8, that will bear the title of the flagship Nokia smartphone, and is slated for release later this year. The Nokia 8 smartphone became the center of tech rumor mill increasing excitement level with every new leak. Some claimed to have spotted the Nokia 8 at Qualcomm’s booth at CES 2017. Soon afterwards rumors about the device’s specifications and features started embracing the internet with most leaks alleging that the next Nokia flagship device will feature Qualcomm 835 processor, 22MP camera, along with the array of other high-end features. However, Qualcomm soon quashed those rumors by shrugging aside claims of the Nokia 8 on show at its booth during the CES conference. The company made it clear that the model on display was a reference design model, which wasn’t anything new. Despite this seemingly convincing rebuttal by Qualcomm it would be naive to overlook the possibility of a Nokia flagship device seeing the light of the day later this year, as has been made abundantly clear by this new leaked report. Let’s see what it has to say about the upcoming Nokia smartphone.

The Nokia P1 Will Hold The Title of The Flagship Model With Snapdragon 835 Process And 22 MP Camera To Go With Plenty Of Other Top-End Features

Nokia is allegedly planning to release as many as seven devices this year, most probably at WMC 2017, to mark it latest foray into the already crowded smartphone market. Reason for launching so many different smartphones is to cater to every market segment from low all the way to the high end of the consumer demand spectrum. The source of this latest rumor is the Russian publication Worket which is of the view that Nokia’s flagship device dubbed the Nokia P1 will be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 chip. Design wise the Nokia P1 resembles to that of the SHARP Aquos Xx3, as per this source.

As far as the specs of the upcoming Nokia P1 are concerned, it will feature the Snapdragon 835 process, Android 7.0 Nougat firmware out of the box, 6GB of RAM, and a 5.3-inch Super HD resolution display panel. But the highlight of this device, as has been the case with many Nokia devices of yore, is the camera which will be staggering 22MP lens with Carl Zeiss certification. Rumor also suggests that the IP57 certificate means the device will be water and dust resistant. The Nokia P1 will be available in two storage options with 128GB and 256GB storage capacity respectively. A 3500mAh battery will be embedded inside the Nokia P1 with Quick Charge feature.

2017 promises to an exiting one when it comes to smartphone innovations, which is badly needed on the back of lackluster 2016 when most tech companies opted to go with incremental rather than drastic changes in their smartphones. This means Nokia will have to unveil devices that can challenge similar devices from established players in the smartphone business. Samsung S8, Apple’s iPhone 8, LG G6, HTC Ocean, and whole host of other smartphone manufacturers are working on their phones with an intention of capturing the imaginations of not only existing customers but also to lure users from rival brands.

According to reports, the Nokia P1’s 128GB model will be sold around $800 and the 256GB model will set you back almost $950, which is a bit steep in our opinion. At the same time, Nokia’s second coming in the smartphone business is a positive move and the one which should be acknowledged, since one of the most beloved mobile brands of all times is back to the field it used to dominate after some difficult years.
