Samsung Galaxy S8 With Iris Scanner Image Teaser Surfaces Along With February 26th Launch Date


As you all must be aware by now that Samsung is in troubling waters ever since whole Galaxy Note 7 explosion episode broke out. Several users have reported that their Samsung’s 2016 phablet has exploded all of sudden, which prompted global recall by Samsung. But even replacement Note 7 device are not impervious to explosions, as we saw just last week a few incidents of Galaxy Note 7 exploding devices causing almost major accidents. Many analysts have predicted to recovery from the Note 7 fiasco, Samsung needs to launch a new device ahead of the schedule to compensate for the losses incurred due to botched Note 7 launch. And since then more information/leaks/rumors regarding the next flagship device from Samsung, the Galaxy S8, started to gather momentum. Today, someone uploaded an alleged teaser image of the rumored Galaxy S8 device along with the launch date predictions. Keep reading to know more.

Samsung Is Preparing To Launch Galaxy S8 On February 26th Next Year With Advanced Iris Scanner Technology

The Samsung Galaxy S8 device has been in rumors a lot recently. According to reports, Samsung is throwing its all in the next S8 flagship smartphone in order to make up for the Note 7 disaster. We have already seen reports indicating dual camera setup, iris scanning, edge-to-edge display on the Galaxy S8 along with whole host of new features. Tech industry insiders are of the view that Samsung decision to rush the launch of its next device is mainly aimed to mitigate the PR dent and financial losses caused by the Note 7 exploding reports. Rumors mill has already started releasing bits about the rumored Samsung flagship.

Tech leaker @Ricciolo has posted an alleged leaked (teaser) image of the Galaxy S8. The teaser image has also information about the launch date and other device details. Closer examination of the leaked image shows that the Samsung Galaxy S8 is set to be launched on February 26th, 2017. Image also has an Iris snap plastered on it, which shows that the device will feature the Iris scanning. See the image below for yourself.


As was the case with the Galaxy S devices launch in the past, Samsung usually launches new galaxy flagships during Mobile World Conference in Barcelona. Next year seems to be following the same pattern. Galaxy S8, beside Iris scanning and dual camera lens, may also feature Type-C audio support as well as no 3.5mm earphone jack like Apple’s iPhone 7 devices.

Samsung S8 is expected to feature lots more features and hardware changes to 10mn in the next year’s device. Next year we will witness one of the greatest showdowns in the tech industry between Apple’s iPhone 8 and Samsung Galaxy S8. We have already seen in rumors that the Galaxy S8 will be powered by the Snapdragon 830 and the Exynos 8895 processors, with the latter expected to clock at staggering 3.0Ghz.
