HMD Global Unveils Nokia 6 Smartphone In China
The Nokia 6 smartphone brings features a 1080 x 1920 full HD resolution on a 5.5-inch screen. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC processor, which is a bit of a disappointment because rumors had been predicting a newer Snapdragon processor, but 430 SoC is no much by any means either, which should be sufficient to handle most modern smartphone tasks. A 4GB of RAM and a 64GB of internal memory with an option to extend storage via external microSD card is also a part of the device.
As far as the camera is concerned, main camera lens at the back end of the device is 16 MP which is brings Nokia’s famous camera technology on the new Nokia 6. An 8 MP of front facing camera is perfect for taking selfies. The device will come with latest Android Nougat firmware out of the box. A 3,000mAh battery is embedded inside to make sure that a single charge will last an entire day on heavy use. According to the company, this battery is capable of giving 18 hours of talk time on 3G network, 32 days on stand-by, and 22 hours of non-stop music.
The Nokia 6 will be available for purchase at $245 which is a reasonable price point for a mid-level device aimed mainly at developing countries. China is the fastest growing mobile market with an large segment still waiting to be tapped. This makes it understandable why HMD Global’s decided to release Nokia 6 in China first. Established smartphone manufacturers, such as Apple and Samsung, are yet to establish a strong foothold in China which makes it easier for smaller mobile manufacturers to extract profits than in mature markets in Europe and North America.
You can purchase Nokia 6 from JD.com online. The device is expected to arrive at retail outlets in a few week’s time. Nokia 6’s decent specs at a affordable price should be a winning combination in China at least. Let’s see if Nokia brand can rise from the ashes like a phoenix, only time will tell.
