But many are saying that this might be Apple’s ploy to lead us to something greater in the form of iPhone 8. The next flagship from Apple will definitely include many changes including marked changes in design. It being called iPhone 8 Special Edition in many tech circles. There will be many new changes coming in iPhone 8 which we are going to discuss here.
iPhone 8 could include a Virtual Button that could be inside the device and pressure sensitive with a drastically different display compared to any previous iPhone model
Let’s give you a sneak peak into what you might expect in iPhone 8 which will be released in 2017. Next year will be the 10th anniversary of iconic Apple iPhone smartphone device and to mark the occasion Apple has something amazing up its sleeves for us. You can expect several changes in the upcoming iPhone 8 and one of them is the virtual button.
Early rumors suggest that Apple is ditching its trademark home button from iPhone 8. You won’t see physical home button in iPhone 8 which may get replaced with the Virtual Button inside the smartphone and sensitive to the touch. This could be Apple’s attempt to make iPhone 8 completely water resistant and get that elusive IP68 certification.
Other interesting bits being circulated on the internet about iPhone 8 is the introduction of edge-to-edge display for the first time on any iPhone variant. iPhone 8 Special Edition allegedly consists of an OLED panel, which is a superior display technology with many advantages over traditional iPhone displays, it seems like Apple is finally embracing the change in the display of its smartphones. Hardware makeup of iPhone Special Edition may also feature a whopping 5.8-inch display, which will give the device ample space for slotting a larger battery.
Curved OLED panel could be part of the edge-to-edge display which may show most used apps on the sides of the panel in order to make it easy for users to access frequently used apps rather than navigating all the way to their installation location on the device.
iPhone 8 Special Edition could also Feature a Curved Display like that of Samsung Galaxy Note 7
Apple has reportedly big up its sleeves to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its famous iPhone smartphone and iPhone 8 Special Edition may very well be that treat that Apple might throw at us in 2017. This special edition iPhone 8 could consist of an OLED panel which is a superior display technology with lower battery consumption. Apple never liked big screen smartphones citing it makes it difficult for one-handed use but with a 5.8-inch display, this is all about to change.
This larger size also gives more space to insert a bigger battery. Battery life of iPhone has always been average at best, but with bigger battery capacity we may see a longer lasting battery finally in an iPhone device. This, of course, depends on how much Apple will be willing to compromise on the thickness of the handset.
We can also gather from rumors that since TSMC is increasing the production of its 10nm FinFET node and A11 processor with more transistors, we may see a jump in the battery life.
And finally, Apple may include wireless charging technology in its next generation iPhone 8, according to a new patient application. The patient application, filed with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, shows images of a round charging device with a concave top, similar to the plastic wireless charger used by Apple watch.
With such as device, iPhone users will be able to charge their device by placing them on top of a new charging tool, which would be plugged into the mains, rather than attaching the iPhone directly using Apple’s lightening charger.
All this information should be taken with a grain of salt as it is but just rumors and gossip at this point. There is still a lot of time left before the launch of the next iPhone 8 smartphone and many things can change in the mean time.
