Install Motorola USB drivers on PC.
Enable USB Debugging (Settings > Developer Options) on Moto G.
Make sure the device is at least 60% charged to prevent any accidental shutdowns during the flashing process.

Step 1 – Turn OFF your device and reboot it in bootloader mode by pressing and holding the Power + Volume Down keys together and release the button when a warning symbol appears on the display.
Step 2 – Connect your phone to PC via USB cable.
Step 3 – Open the Fastboot folder on your PC. Press SHIFT + right-click on mouse anywhere in the empty space on the folder window and select ‘Open Command Prompt’ from the drop-down menu.
Step 4 – Type the following command in the command prompt:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Step 5 – Next, type the following command to reboot the device.
