Install TWRP Recovery on Moto G

Backup all important device data. You can restore the backup after completing the TWRP installation process.

Install ADB and Fastboot on Windows or MAC computer. Or download the fastboot file and extract it on PC.

Install Motorola USB drivers on PC.

Enable USB Debugging (Settings > Developer Options) on Moto G.

Unlock Moto G 2014 bootloader.

Make sure the device is at least 60% charged to prevent any accidental shutdowns during the flashing process.

How To Install TWRP Recovery on Moto G 2014 Phone

Step 1 – Turn OFF your device and reboot it in bootloader mode by pressing and holding the Power + Volume Down keys together and release the button when a warning symbol appears on the display.

Step 2 – Connect your phone to PC via USB cable.

Step 3 – Open the Fastboot folder on your PC. Press SHIFT + right-click on mouse anywhere in the empty space on the folder window and select ‘Open Command Prompt’ from the drop-down menu.

Step 4 – Type the following command in the command prompt:

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img

Step 5 – Next, type the following command to reboot the device.

fastboot reboot

That’s all. Once the device reboots your Moto G second generation 2014 model will have the TWRP recovery installed on it.
