Before You Start:

Carefully read instructions below to avoid unnecessary device malfunction during the installation process.

  • Make sure you have ADS & Fastboot Drivers with Minimal Tool installed on Windows or Mac PC.
  • Backup entire device data before proceeding as the process below will wipe out current date from your Nexus device. You can restore the data backup after upgrading to Android Nougat 7.0
  • Go to Settings > About Device and tap seven times on device build number to enable Developer Options. Back on main Settings menu, scroll down to the bottom and tap on Developer Options to enable OEM Unlocking and USB Debugging.

How to Install Android 7.0 Nougat on Nexus Devices:

1 – Download Factory image file for your device from links above and extract zip file content on PC to get firmware files.

2 – Connect your Nexus device with PC via USB cable.

3 – On Windows PC, open ADB & Fastboot folder by going to C:\Program Files > Minimal ADB and Fastboot. Inside ADB and Fastboot folder, right-click on an empty area while holding the SHIFT key and click Open command window option.

4 – In the Command prompt type adb reboot bootloader to boot your Nexus device into Fastboot mode.

5 – To unlock the bootloader for your device, type fastboot flashing unlock (for Nexus 6, 6P, 5X) and fastboot oem unlock (for other Nexus devices) in the command window.

6 – From extracted firmware folder, which you downloaded from links above, launch the flash all file, normally with the name flash-all.bat.

7 – Android 7.0 Nougat installation on Nexus device will begin.

8 – Be patient during the process as it can take several minutes to finish.
