The news most Xbox fans were dying to hear is here at long last. Microsoft announced at this year’s E3 keynote that original Xbox games would become backward compatible with the Xbox One. Now the first bunch of games with backward compatibility has been released, or rather leaked online, which we have managed to grab for you.
Microsoft did not made public a full list of games. The company only announced Crimson Skies and Fuzion Frenzy during the keynote. Since then rumors have been rife with the speculations about the original Xbox games that would work on Xbox One. But nothing was officially confirmed, nor any leaked list surfaced from a credible source.
This all has changed now because famous Microsoft leaker h0x0d (who you might remember also leaked the Surface Laptop images ahead of the official launch) shared a list of games on his Twitter. The image shows the covers of the first release of the original Xbox backwards compatible titles.
The games include:
- Zipper’s Crimson Skies
- Blitz Games’ Fuzion Frenzy
- Bioware’s Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic
- Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia: Sands of Time
- Rare’s Grabbed by the Ghoulies
- Terminal Reality’s BloodRayne
- SNK’s The King of Fighters Neowave
- Double Fine’s Psychonauts
- Namco’s Dead to Rights
- Firaxis’ Sid Meier’s Pirates!
- Team NINJA’s Ninja Gaiden Black
- Volition’s Red Faction II

Sadly, some of the biggest hits on the original Xbox such as Halo: Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Forza Motorsport, Fable, Project Gotham Racing, and others do not make it into the first wave of release. Hopefully these hit titles will be added in the final list of titles.
But the current list of games is not too shabby either. Which one are you most looking forward to playing? Share in the comments section below.
