Here’s a complete step-by-step guide on how to jailbreak iOS 10 / iOS 10.1.1 using mach_portal + Yalu jailbreak and Cydia Impactor on supported iPhone and iPad devices.
Without wasting any further of your time, i am going to go ahead with the main topic, i.e, jailbreaking iOS 10 or iOS 10.1.1 using the jailbreak tool based on Project Zero exploit released by Luca Todesco. Before starting the jailbreak process, you should know that this jailbreak exploit work only on selected iPhone and iPad models at the moment with the support for other models expected to arrive soon. Moreover, the compatible device must be on the supported iOS firmware version for this jailbreak exploit to work properly. Another thing to note is this jailbreak tweak is in beta stage and not fully tethered. Semi-tethered jailbreak solution required a re-jailbreak after every reboot.
Before You Start:
There are some conditions that has to be met and fulfilled in order to make this jailbreak tool to work on your compatible iPhone and iPad.
- Supported iOS devices include iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPad Pro running on iOS 10.1 and iOS 10.1.1 version. At the moment, the method below works only on the above mentioned device and iOS versions. Do not attempt to try this method on any device or firmware other than the compatible ones.
- Next, and very important steps is to download iOS jailbreak IPA file: Download Yalu iOS jailbreak IPA file.
- Go to cydiaimpactor.com and download Cydia Impactor tool.
- A free or full Apple Developer ID. New users can apply for one from appleid.apple.com
- Latest iTunes installed on PC Windows or MAC.
How To Jailbreak iOS 10 / 10.1.1 on Using mach_portal+Yalu
1 – Connect your jailbreak compatible device to PC via USB or lightening cable.
2 – Backup device data on iTunes to restore in case anything goes wrong during the jailbreak process below.
3 – Disable Touch ID/passcode on your device: Settings > Touch ID & Passcode.
4 – Disable Find My iPhone on your device: Settings > iCloud > Find My iPhone and turn the toggle to off position.
5 – Open Cydia Impactor tool on PC. Drag and drop the downloaded Yalu IPA file to Cydia Impactor.
6 – Next, when asked, enter your Apple developer account ID.
7 – Wait while Cydia installs the jailbreak app on your device. Once completed, you can disconnect your device from PC.
8 – Now go to Settings > General > Profile(s) & Device Management or General > Device Management on some iOS devices. Hit the Trust and tap again on Trust on the certificate confirmation box.
9 – Return to home screen on your device, and launch the mach_portal jailbreak app. Wait for a few seconds for the app to perform some necessary background checks on your device. Once done, your device will respring and when its comes back on, you will see Cydia app icon showing next to macg_portal app icon on the home screen of your device.
That’s all. The Cydia app icon showing means that the device has been jailbroken successfully. But like i mentioned earlier that this jailbreak tweak is still semi-tethered, which means you will re-jailbreak your device after every reboot. In that case, all you need to do is to repeat the instructions given in the steps-9 above.
Also note that the device jailbroken using Free Apple developer account ID will need to jailbroken again after every seven days. In that case, repeat step-5 to step-9 in the guide above, you don’t need to follow the entire method for re-jailbreaking. All previous apps, settings and data will remain unchanged after re-jailbreak, you don’t need to restore anything. Devices jailbroken on full Apple ID need to a fresh jailbreak after every one year. Refer to the instructions in this for future iOS 10 or iOS 10.1.1 jailbreaks. For queries and help, send comments below.
