How To Install TWRP Recovery and Root Galaxy S6 Edge Plus


Here’s a guide on how to install TWRP recovery and root Galaxy S6 Edge Plus using latest TWRP for Galaxy S6 Edge Plus. Latest TWRP recovery for Galaxy S6 Edge Plus has been released. This new version of Galaxy S6 Edge Plus TWRP recovery works on all S6 Edge Plus variants powered by Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow firmware. Before You Start:

1 – Enable OEM Unlocking on your device.

2 – Enable USB Debugging mode on your Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.

3 – OEM data cable to connect your phone to PC.

3 – Backup important device data on PC or external storage device before starting the TWRP installation and Rooting process.

4 – A micro SD card to copy file to avoid using the MTP mode to boot into TWRP custom recovery for flashing the copy.

5 – Make sure device is at least 60% charged to avoid device shutdown during the installation process.

6 – Disable or uninstall Samsung Kies while using Odin flashing tool for successfully connecting your device with Odin.

Download file and copy it to device’s external SD card.

Steps To Install TWRP Recovery & Root Galaxy S6 Edge Plus

1 – Open Odin3.exe file from the extracted Odin file that you downloaded from the above link.

2 – Next you need to reboot the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus into the Download Mode. For that, turn OFF your device, then press and hold Power + Home + Volume Down keys together until you see the Download mode screen on the mobile display.

3 – Connect your Phone to PC via USB cable.

4 – The ID:COM box on Odin should turn blue with an Added message shown in the logs to indicate that the connection has been successful between mobile and PC, and Odin has recognized the device.

5 – In the option box on Odin, make sure only F. Reset Time option enable. Disable/uncheck all other options including the Auto-Reboot option to prevent the device from rebooting after flashing TWRP recovery.

6 – Now click on the AP tab on Odin and select the TWRP Recovery.img.tar file for your device.

7 – Make sure that the right twrp file for your device is selected and all needed options enabled, after which hit the Start button on Odin to flash the TWRP on your device.

8 – Wait for the flashing process to complete after that you will see a PASS message on Odin to reflect the successful installation of TWRP recovery onto your device.

9 – Disconnect your phone from PC.

10 – Next, to boot your device into TWRP recovery, turn OFF your phone. Now turn on your device by pressing and holding Volume Up + Power + Home keys together. This will boo the device in just installed TWRP recovery.

11 – Swipe right when asked whether you want to allow modifications or not. Swiping right will open dm-verity and disable it immediately because it kept enabled it stops the device from booting and rooting. Keep this in mind since our aim is to modify the system on the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.

12 – Tap Wipe > Format Data > Types “yes” to format data on your mobile. This will reset the device back to factory setting and disable encryption. Backup device data before going through with this step.

13 – Return to the main TWRP recovery menu and tap Reboot > Recovery to reboot the device in TWRP recovery mode.

14 – After copying both the and files in external SD card or USB OTG. You can copy both files to external SD card from MTP mode in TWRP. After copying the files, tap Install > location where you copied the > Flash.

15 – Next, tap Install > Location where you copied the > flash to start the flashing process and wait for it to finish.

16 – Once both files are flashed, reboot your phone.

17 – That’s all.
