The developer used Samsung Theme Maker and GIMP utility to recreate the Google Pixel boot animation and uploaded them for users to install in zip file format on Samsung devices to get the same great boot animation experience as on the Pixel device.
There is one thing you need to know about the this boot animation zip file, which is available for download from the link below, that it works only on devices with QHD resolution. This makes it compatible with Samsung Galaxy S7, S7 Edge, S6, S6 Edge, and any other Samsung device with QHD display resolution to replace the native Samsung boot animation with Google Pixel Boot Animation.
You Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 Edge, S7/S7 Edge device must be rooted with TWRP installed on it. See at the end of this post to learn how to root and install TWRP on these Samsung devices.
How To Install Google Pixel Boot Animation On Samsung Devices
1 – Move the downloaded Boot Animation file to your device.
2 – Power off your phone and boot it into the TWRP recovery mode by pressing and holding the Volume Up + Home + Power keys simultaneously for around 5 seconds. Release the keys when Recovery menu shows up on the screen.
3 – Before anything else, create a Nandroid backup to the external microSD card or on a USB OTG so that you could restore it later if anything goes wrong during the process, or if the device get stuck in a boot loop after flashing the file. To create Nandroid backup, go to Backup and check the Boot, Recovery, System, Data, Baseband and EFS and wait for the backup to complete.
4 – Once the backup is created, return to the main menu of TWRP recovery and tap on the Install button.
5 – Now, locate the boot animation zip file which you copied to the external SD card and select it.
6 – Swipe the slider at the bottom of the screen to confirm your selection and start the installation process.
7 – When done, tap Wipe cache/dalvik option.
8 – Then, select Reboot > System to reboot your device.
9 – That’s all.
Now when your Samsung phone reboots, you will see new Google Pixel boot animation on your Samsung device rather than Samsung’s own non-animated boot up screen.
