Copyright laws and their strict implementation in various countries is making it difficult to watch content from other places without proper authentication. For example, you cannot watch an TV show on a US website from a country where such content is blocked by the administrator. So, how does one gain access to the region restricted content in the blink of an eye? Well, the workaround is rather straightforward, thankfully. It requires you to fake your geographic location on web browser to a country where the restricted content can be watched. In this guide, you’ll learn how to fake your location in Chrome and Microsoft Edge web browsers.
When you visit a website that shows country restricted content, it requests you to grand mandatory location access. Although you can reject the request but with that you also end any chance of accessing its content. Moreover, these websites use HTML5 Geolocation API to quietly track your region anyway. So, you may turn down the location request but your region’s information cannot be hidden from these websites who will block any attempt of watching content from a restricted region and this error “this content is not available in your country” shows up on the screen. Mostly, this happens on movies, TV shows, and Sports websites.
Luckily, you can bypass region specific restrictions by faking the location in the web browser. Both Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome allow users to fake location. Follow the instructions below to learn how to fake location in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge.
