How To Perform Clean Install of macOS High Sierra on Mac
Step 1 – First and foremost, download macOS High Sierra 10.3 final version update that Apple has pushed to the Mac App Store. This is very important.
Note: If you haven’t downloaded a version of macOS or OS X previously, then the Mac App Store will initially download an installer and then initiate the process. Wait for the installer download to complete after which you can exit the install process as we are going to perform clean install using the steps below.

Step 3 – When the bootable USB flash driver installer is ready, you need to plug it with your Mac.
Step 4 – Next, boot your Mac while keep pressing the Option key during the boot up process. Make sure USB installer remains connected with to your computer during boot process.
Step 5 – This will take you to a new menu with several options on the menu to choose for booting up your device. Here, you need to select the plugged in bootable USB drive from the list and hit enter key to continue.
Step 6 – Now wait as the system to runs various checks and processes to get the device ready for OS installation. When complete, you will see a macOS Utility menu. Here, select Disk Utility from the available options and hit the Continue button to proceed.
Step 7 – As the main Disk Utility gets loaded, make sure that the main Mac hard drive is selected on the left hand side, and the click on Erase button. Make sure in the Name field, title of the HDD remains “Machintosh HD”, and in Format field “Mac OS Extended (Journaled)” is selected. Now hit the Erase button.
Step 8 – This will wipe out the current installation from your Mac. Then, you will be presented with another macOS Utilities menu. This time, select Install macOS and hit continue button.
Step 9 – In the next screen, click on Continue button, ensure that Machintosh HD is selected, and then hit Install.
Step 10 – That’s it. Wait for the macOS High Sierra to complete set up process by registering files and other important data on your Mac.
