One of these new features in Android Nougat for Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge update is the ability to change the screen resolution according to the personal liking. This new feature can be access from the Settings app on Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge running Android Nougat firmware.

How To Change Screen Resolution on Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge On Android Nougat

In the new Android Nougat firmware for Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, there is a new menu from where you can control the screen resolution setting. The new available screen resolutions include HD, Full HD, and WQHD. Screen resolution has a direct relation to the number of hours you can get out of your device’s battery. With this new option to adjust screen resolution in latest Android Nougat update, you can extract more life out of the Galaxy S7 & S7 Edge’s battery.

When you update your Galaxy S7 or S7 edge to the stock Android Nougat firmware update which is officially released by Samsung, the default screen resolution gets set to the full HD resolution. Moreover, Samsung has introduced a new scaling option that changes default resolution to Full HD. But you can also manually control the screen resolution using the steps below.

1 – Open the Settings menu on your Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge device.

2 – Scroll down and tap on Display > Change Screen Resolution option.

3 – In the Screen Resolution setting, you will see three available resolutions: HD (1280 x 720), FHD (1920 x 1080), WQHD (2560 x 1440).

4 – Tap to select your preferred screen resolution.

5 – Hit Apply button when done and exit the Settings.

6 – That’s all.

This will permanently set the screen resolution to the one you just selected until you change it manually using the steps above. Now you don’t have to worry about screen resolution going back to the default every time after booting/rebooting your device.
