WhatsApp now lets you add links in status. This feature was added just recently in one of the updates. Surprisingly WhatsApp didn’t highlight the new option and it went under the radar unnoticed. But it can be a really useful feature if you want to direct WhatsApp contacts to some place that interests you. So here is a guide on how you add link in WhatsApp status on Android, iOS and PC versions of the app.
Snapchat and Instagram recently added a new feature that allows users to add an external link to their stories. The feature is very useful which makes one wonder why it took developers so long to bring it to their apps.
But we are not here to discuss Snap and Insta, out main topic here is WhatsApp. World’s number one communication app just added an option that allows you to add links in that Status. WhatsApp rolled out the Text only status feature to all version above 2.17.297, which was made even better in the update 2.17.306 for Android and iOS. One of the new features is this option to add links in the status. However, you can add links to Text-Only status updates and not the regular status update.
Steps to Add Link in the WhatsApp Status
1 – Grab your phone and open WhatsApp.
2 – Go to the Status tab.
3 – Tap the floating pencil icon at the bottom.
4 – Enter the desired URL where it says, “Type a status”. You can change text font or background color by using the icons at the bottom.
