Microsoft released Windows 10 back in August 2015. For the first time ever in the company’s history, latest Windows 10 operating system was offered as a free upgrade to the users of genuine Windows 7. Windows 8, Windows 8.1 OS. Microsoft gave the users of fully activated Windows 7/8/8.1 one year to make up their mind and upgrade their desktop or laptop to Windows 10 for free. This offered ended in July 2016 after which anyone wishing to upgrade to Windows 10 will need to purchase a valid license for Windows 10 for a hefty price. But this does not mean you cannot upgrade to Windows 10 for free. In this post, we are going to share some interesting ways you can use to get Windows 10 for free even if you missed out on free upgrade offer earlier.
Reports are circulating that a small opening has been detected in the system which makes it possible to upgrade your Windows 8 or Windows 7 running device to Windows 10 for free. So, if you regret missing out on a glorious chance to upgrade to Windows 10 for free, all is not lost. You can still upgrade your device to Windows 10 for free. Here’s how to do it.
How To Get Windows 10 For Free
Microsoft still offers a free Windows 10 upgrade to users owning devices that has assistive technology, such as magnifier or the screen narrator, installed on them. According to a report emerging out of Techspot, “Microsoft isn’t really checking to see whether you are actually using these assertive tools.”
To exploit this glitch in the system, Techspot explains, go to Microsoft’s accessibility website, and enter that you are using assistive technologies on your Windows 7 / Windows 8 running device, and proceed to download the software available from that page. Simply install the program for free without anyone noticing it. Microsoft sure does know that you attempted the workaround to get free Windows 10, but apparently the Redmond Tech giant isn’t minding people getting Windows 10 this way as long as they are getting new or retain existing users on their platform.
We can’t say with absolute surety as to when will Microsoft plug this loophole to end free Windows 10 upgrade offer for devices using assistive technology and tools. However, the company did allude that it will make an official announcement before ending this offer. So, if you are using Assistive tools on your computer, you can use this offer to get free Windows 10 upgrade officially with the Anniversary update features along with range the of other new accessibility features.
That’s how you can still manage to install Windows 10 for free. All you need is a device with assistive technologies enabled on it, if not, then lie a little on the Microsoft’s assistive technology webpage to get free Windows 10 upgrade.
