It’s now possible to find out if iPhone 6s is eligible for free battery replacement from Apple even without warranty. Apple has announced that it will repair iPhone 6S battery for devices with faulty battery slotted in them during the manufacturing process. This should come as a reprieve for those users whose iPhone 6S battery has been fraught with quick battery drain issue. Apple has not been forthright when it comes to which iPhone models are eligible for repair. The company is glossing over the issue by saying that only a small percent of iPhone 6S handsets in use are prone to battery problem. So far Apple is advising iPhone 6S users to visit Apple store to have their devices checked if its facing low battery issue.
Apple announced an iPhone 6s battery replace program last week, pointing select models that might be eligible for a free repair due to unexpected shutdowns. It only suggested that bring affected devices to the Apple store to let Genius Bar ascertain eligibility of battery replacement.
Apple has determined that a very small number of iPhone 6s devices may unexpectedly shut down. This is not a safety issue and only affects devices within a limited serial number range that were manufactured between September and October 2015…. Your iPhone will be examined prior to any service to verify that it is eligible for this program and in working order.
However, visiting Apple Store may not be convenient for everyone, especially for those who are live at long distance from Apple store. Getting all the way to the Apple Genius Bar only to be told that your device is not eligible for battery replacement must be irritating. Instead of waiting in long queues for your turn at the Genius Bar, you can check yourself whether the battery on your iPhone 6S is faulty or not, and if its eligible for replacement which could save you a trip to an Apple store.
