Google has released quite a few voice search recognition apps in an attempt to give Apple’s Siri and Microsoft brilliant Cortana voice search assistant apps a tough time and to lure users onto its own voice search app. Google Now was the first such app, which has to be said was a massive improvement in terms of understanding various accents accurately when execute voice commands. After that, Google released Now on Tap with an ability to read commands from the display screen for accurate search results.
Google Assistant can be said is the combination of both of those apps, but with better voice recognition and more apps integrated than ever before. Those who were disappointed by Google’s decision to restrict the use of Google Assistant app only to its Pixel and Pixel XL phones can cheer up because an XDA member Brainelv has managed to create a mod which makes it possible to enable Google Assistant on Nexus 6P, which is Google’s last phone with the Nexus brand name.
