There is a new iOS jailbreak solution in town. The latest beta 2 version of the Saigon for iOS 10.2.1 has landed for compatible devices. Saigon iOS Jailbreak works on selected models of 64-Bit iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Here is everything you need to known about the newly released Saigon Jailbreak for iOS 10.2.1 and possibly for iOS 10.3.1 as well. In this post, we are also going to show how you can download this jailbreak tool on your device.
Saigon iOS 10.2.1 jailbreak by Abraham Masri is released for some iOS 10.2.1 64-bit devices, though users of iOS 10.3.1 could also be in line to benefit from this exploit (keep reading to know more about it). Saigon tool doesn’t work with the latest firmware. But it comes closer to any other previous jailbreak solution we have seen so far. It works on 64-bit devices. Developer behind this tool has been able to merge three separate exploits into a single solution.
iOS jailbreak is no easy task. That’s why despite the public availability of exploits such as ziVA, triple_fetch, and the kernel protection bypass (in extra_recipe and Yalu), no one really seemed ready to step up to the challenge and perform the complicated task of developing a working iOS jailbreak tool.
However, one developer named Abraham Masri decided to go ahead with the exceedingly difficult task. He has been able to get the full jailbreak up and running on a number of selected devices. This is the second beta version of the exploit which brings stability and bug fixes.
What’s New In Saigon Jailbreak Beta 2 For iOS 10.2.1/iOS 10.3.1
Latest beta 2 comes with a number of critical fixes for issues that were detected in the first release. To begin with, developer behind Saigon has added support for more devices than the previous beta 1. Compatible devices need to run the supported version of the Apple’s mobile firmware to successfully download and install Saigon jailbreak, which is the iOS 10.2.1 version as of now.
Stability improvements and bug fixes mean that the users of iPad mini 4, iPhone 6s Plus and iPad Air 2 (all running iOS 10.2.1), can download the latest beta 2 update of Saigon to jailbreak their devices by flashing the IPA file via Cydia. Here is the official changelog released with the beta 2:
- Fix for camera not working after jailbreaking
- Support for iPhone 6s Plus/iPad Mini 4/iPad Air 2
- Minor bug fixes and changes
- Slightly better at escaping sandbox
- Option to reinstall Cydia by
holding ‘jailbreak’ button then tapping it again
- Display device model and version
This is an important update because in the previous version camera app failed to load properly after jailbreaking with Saigon. So download Saigon Beta 2 with camera fix to get rid of the annoying problem. The changelog also mentions that this tool is “slightly” better at escaping sandbox, which is also an important fix.
Saigon Jailbreak Compatible Devices:
For now, these are the iOS devices that work with the beta 2 release:
- iPod Touch 6 (10.2.1)
- iPhone SE (10.2.1)
- iPhone 6/Plus (10.2.1)
- iPhone 6s/Plus (10.2.1)
- iPad Mini 4 (10.2.1) (Not tested yet)
- iPad Air 2 (10.2.1)
- iPhone 6s (10.3.1) (Not tested yet)
Although the list is fairly short at the moment, but there is no reason to believe that the support would remain restricted to the current lot only and won’t extend to all other 64-bit iOS devices in upcoming releases. For increasing support, developers might need to tweak devices’ video drivers to add more models to the list of compatible devices.
On a positive note, triple_fetch can work up to iOS 10.3.2, and ziVA up to iOS 10.3.1. This means some devices could get a jailbreak up to iOS 10.3.1, though nothing is concrete on that front. Shortcomings with Cydia Substrate and KPP could pose hurdles in the process, but the Saigon website claims that the support for iPhone 6s running iOS 10.3.1 is on its way.

Developers of Saigon Jailbreak have added a useful new option in the beta 2 that allows users to reinstall Cydia by tapping and holding on the jailbreak button and then tap once more. This is a critical update if you are looking for a more stable experience with Saigon jailbreak.
Users are reporting fewer cases of forced reboots and crashes after jailbreaking using this the beta 2. iOS jailbreak solutions are never perfect so the chances of unexpected issues are ever present. However, it is comforting to know that the developer behind Saigon Jailbreak are serious about it as demonstrated by this quick beta 2 update release immediately on the heels of the initial launch a couple of weeks ago.
