downgrade iOS 10.3 on iphone or ipad guide

Here’s a complete guide on how to downgrade iOS 10.3 on iPhone and iPad using simple steps. If you have already upgraded your device to the latest iOS 10.3 but for some reasons it messed up your device’s performance, or you want your device to get ready for iOS jailbreak, then keep on reading as we are going to walk you through the process of downgrading your device’s firmware from iOS 10.3 to earlier version manually.

Luckily it’s easy to roll back to the previous working iOS version on your iPhone and iPad. Before anything else, please note that Apple has stopped signing iOS 10.0.2 and iOS 10.0.3, 10.1, 10.1.1 firmware versions, which makes it impossible to downgrade from iOS 10.2, 10.2.1, 10.3 to iOS 10.0.x and 10.1.x versions. Currently, only officially available and signed iOS versions include the iOS 10.2 and iOS 10.2.1. Jailbreak fans need to make a note of this, because if you are using the latest iOS 10.3, you would like to immediately install older version of iOS to get your device ready for upcoming jailbreak solution.

If you upgraded to iOS 10.3 or later to enjoy latest iOS features but want to roll back to the previous version for jailbreak or any other reason, then see the steps in the guide below. But before that, there are some things you need to consider before starting the downgrade process.

Since iOS 10.2 is the latest officially available iOS version that’s being digitally signed by Apple, that makes it the latest available firmware which you can downgrade to on iPhone and iPad while keep getting bugs and security updates. Apple has stopped signing any iOS version older than iOS 10.2, which means you cannot downgrade to earlier

If your device is facing battery issues, performance lags, or bugs then downgrading from iOS 10.3 makes sense. Earliest iOS version that you can go to from iOS 10.2 or 10.2.1. But keep in mind that jailbreak tweak is available only on iOS 10.2 for now.

Apple closely controls all aspects of its mobile OS by killing official support for older versions, so that no one can use them to tweak and jailbreak. Apple decides for users how far back they can go as far as the firmware on their device is concerned. You can only downgrade to the version which still gets official Apple signing certificate. Moreover, Apple kills support for previous iOS versions without any prior warning.
