Before You Start

How To Clean Install macOS Sierra on MAC – (Any Version)
Before starting, once again, ensure that you have a compatible MAC and a macOS Sierra bootable USB flash drive ready.
Also, Download macOS Sierra 10.12.1 (latest version).
Note: After downloading, MAC will try to walk you through the installation process, since we don’t want to upgrade the OS, but want to clean install it, therefore, quit the installer after downloading macOS Sierra latest version.
Step 1 – Plug-in the bootable macOS Sierra USB drive, and reboot your MAC.
Step 2 – Press the ‘Option’ key as soon as MAC boots-up to enter a new menu with different boot-up options.
Step 3 – In boot-up menu, select the bootable USB drive that you just plugged-in to MAC and hit Enter.
Step 4 – Wait for the bootable USB flash driver installer to load while it checks and runs processes in the background.
Step 5 – After that, a macOS Utilities menu will appear. Here, select the ‘Disk Utility’ option, and then hit the Continue button.
Step 6 – On the left-hand side of the disk Utility, make sure main MAC hard drive is selected on which the previous macOS or any other MAC OS X version is installed, and then hit the ‘Erase’ button. Please make sure that in the name field the name of the HDD drive stays “Macintosh HD”, and Format is selected as “Mac OS Extended (Journaled)”. After that hit the Erase button. Before hitting erase make sure MAC data is properly backup as this will wipe out all existing data on MAC.
Step 7 – Now your MAC doesn’t have any operating system installed on it. After the data deletion, hit the red button on the top-left corner, which will take you back to the macOS Utility menu. This time, select ‘Install macOS’ option on the list and hit Continue button.
Step 8 – Follow the on-screen instructions as prompted. Make sure that Macintosh HD is selected as the main hard drive on which to install macOS Sierra, and hit the Install button.
