A new report is claiming to know the confirmed release date of Windows 10 Creators Update for public consumption. Microsoft has some radical changes and new features in store for the Windows 10 Creators Update which is still in beta testing phase and is available only to developers and testers enrolled in Windows Insider Program. But if this report is to be believed, the exact date of when the Windows 10 Creators Update will be pushed on user PCs all around the world has been leaked.
Microsoft officially unveiled Windows 10 Creators Update back in October in New York City. Main premise behind arranging an event for a Windows update was to show to the world what great new features Microsoft has in works for its Windows 10 OS. The features that are being tested in the insider beta updates show that the company is preparing its Windows 10 OS to be powerful enough to handle future tech needs and trends. This futuristic approach to Windows 10 is a masterstroke from Microsoft, who is also investing heavily in Virtual Reality projects to empower Windows 10 enough to be ready when the wave of virtual reality based products hits the tech industry.
All we knew up until now regarding the release of Windows 10 Creators Update was that it will be released sometime in the Spring of 2017 with no mention of the exact date. But a new report is claiming to be privy of the exact launch date of Windows 10 Creators Update that users will be able to download and install on their PCs.
Here at RazinTech, from time to time, we provide detailed overview of new features that Microsoft is releasing as a part of its Windows 10 Insider Preview Build program for Windows 10 beta testing of the features that will eventually be included in the planned Major update release of Windows 10. Purpose of these beta update releases is to identify and iron out bugs and errors before releasing them for public. But all we had known so far was the information about features with no hint whatsoever as to when the Windows 10 Creators Update will be released for Public.
However, this has changed, as a new report by MSPoweruser claims that the Microsoft will release Windows 10 creators update in April 2017 for public. This will be the biggest feature packed Windows 10 update since the Anniversary update back in August.
Like i mentioned above, Microsoft stayed away from mentioning the precise release date of Windows 10 Creators Update, giving only a vague hint that it will be released in Spring of 2017. But this new report states that one of its sources has been able to get the exact release date of Windows 10 creators update. If you are familiar with Microsoft’s way of numbering Windows update, it won’t come as a surprise that the actual Windows 10 Creators Update release will indeed be the month of April in 2017.
While the update initially had a version number of 1703 in Insider Builds leading to speculation that it would be released in March 2017, we can reveal that the final version number will actually be 1704 for an April release.
In the update number 1704, the number 17 means the year 2017 and 04 means the month of April. Microsoft releases major Windows updates in phases to avoid putting undue pressure on the company servers and to ensure stable Windows release free of unexpected crashes. If you don’t receive the update in April, don’t worry it will eventually arrive via OTA update in your country. Windows 10 users can also manually download and install the update on their devices to get new features immediately without having to wait for the official OTA release. We will show you how to do it when the Windows 10 Creators Update becomes available for download, so stay tuned for that.
The current series of Windows 10 updates is all set to carry on well beyond the release of the Creators update with Microsoft already working on the next big Windows 10 Redstone 3 update.
The company has already started planning for the next update, codenamed “Redstone 3” which is expected to bring a range of new features, including an improved design language for the OS. I was told that Redstone 3 is planned to be released before the end of 2017, but things are in the very early stage of development, so there isn’t a set date just yet.
